Teton County enacted an alarm ordinance which became effective as of October 28, 2009.
This ordinance requires all home owners and businesses with alarm systems installed to register their alarm with the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and receive a permit number.
If you have a home or business with a security system, please fill out the Alarm Registration Form and mail it back to the Teton County Sheriff’s Office. Registration can also be completed at the Sheriff's Office in the Driver's License office.
Unregistered alarm system owners may be fined $100.00 and may face misdemeanor charges, per the county ordinance.
The Alarm Ordinance also states home owners are allowed 1 free false alarm call per year. For the second false alarm call the home owner will be charged $75.00, third false alarm is $125.00, and the fourth is $175.00.
Initial Registration: $75.00
Annual Renewal: $25.00
