The Teton County Sheriff's Office is responsible for issuing Idaho Driver's License, Idaho State Identification Cards, Driver's Training Permits. It is our responsibility to examine applicants before issuing driver's licenses. This examination must include a test of the applicants eyesight. In, addition, a first time applicant's knowledge of Idaho traffic laws must be tested by a computerized examination.
All Idaho residents who plan on driving a motor vehicle are required to obtain a valid Idaho driver's license. Anyone who moves to Idaho from another state and holds a valid driver's license for that state has 90 days (30 days for Commercial Driver's Licenses) to obtain an Idaho Driver's License and surrender his/her out-of-state license. Exceptions are active US military members and their dependents and students who claim residency in other states.
The Teton County Sheriff's Office is also responsible for issuing Concealed Weapons Permits and Fingerprints. For more information on these services, use the Service button at the top of this page
Class D, CDL, and Motorcycle knowledge tests are available all week, without an appointment.

All testing and fingerprinting will STOP one hour prior to close each day.
Please look at the Required Documents page to make sure that all supporting documentation is with you when arrive at the Driver's License office.
